Whether you are a timeshare owner or a prospective owner, the timeshare resale process can be confusing. The resale market has been a part of timeshare history since the industry’s inception in the mid-1970s. Over the years--even before ARDA-ROC existed--ARDA has provided information on the resale process to consumers, monitored resale company practices, held symposiums for its members and created think tanks with industry leaders to discuss the best solutions to ensure consumer protections and adherence to resale standards.
However, as a result of the growing misperceptions and confusion surrounding the timeshare resale market, ARDA-ROC has developed this center to address those concerns and provide information about all aspects of the resale process from buying to selling. We hope that you will continue to share with us your advice and thoughtful questions so that we may continue to serve our 8 million owners.
In the meantime, leaders in our industry – developers, managers, homeowners' associations and resellers – will continue to work in concert to develop a resale market that provides consumers a safe and positive resale experience.
